Spring is around the corner and there is plenty to do in the Brazos River basin during the month of March. This month you can channel your inner Irish, bird watch, or learn how to improve your garden. Here’s a roundup of events in March throughout the basinUpper Basin


2 – GRANBURY: 1st Saturday Bird Walk begins at 7 a.m. at 6500 Smoky Hill Ct. Participants are encouraged to bring their binoculars. This event is free of charge. For more information, please call (817) 326-6005.

12 – WEATHERFORD: Disaster Survival 101 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at the Weatherford Public Library located at 1014 Charles St. For teens 12 years and younger, this is an introduction to the tools and skills you need to survive any disaster. Central Basin

4 – TEMPLE: The Basics of Plant Propagation from 6-8 p.m. at Sammons Community Center located at 2220 W. Avenue D. Elliot Dr. Learn how to increase the number of your favorite plants and herbs. Plant propagation is a simple and effective way to multiply plants in your garden and outdoor space or to share with the neighbors, at little to no cost. 11 – WACO: First Aid, CPR & AED Certification for Youth from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the West Waco Library located at 5301 Bosque Blvd. Teens can be certified in this informative training and leave more prepared for babysitting and other part time jobs. 2-3 – BRENHAM: Texas Independence Day Celebration from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 23400 Park Road 12 celebrates the Anniversary of Texas Independence.
