GREAT EVENTS HAPPENING IN THE BRAZOS RIVER BASIN THIS MONTH

Upper Brazos River Basin

4 – ABILENE: Krewe of Barkus Mardi Gras Dog Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Located at Nelson Park, Camp Barkley Dog Park, the event is free and open to the public. Bring your pet for a fun afternoon complete with beads and costumes. Contact Jeff White at (325) 734-5306 for further information.

4 – GRANBURY: 1st Saturday Bird Walk begins at 7 a.m. at 6500 Smoky Hill Ct. Participants are encouraged to bring their binoculars. This event is free of charge.  For more information, please call (817) 326-6005.

18 – WEATHERFORD: Art in Action from 11- 4 p.m. at the Weatherford Farmer’s Market located at 217 Fort Worth Hwy. Come participate to win prizes for your artwork in this friendly competition. Central Brazos River Basin 

8 – MOTHER NEFF STATE PARK: Spring Break Hike will start at 10 a.m. as you hike the park with a ranger. Park entrance fee is $2 per person. Children 12 and under get in free. Please contact Jeremy Gann at (254) 853-2389 or jeremy.gann@tpwd.gov.

18 – TEMPLE: 5th Annual Kites for Kids from 1-4 p.m. at 19501 FM 2484. This event promises to be fun-filled for the entire family including kite-flying, face painting, bounce houses and mini-golf. For more information, please call (254) 554-5555.

18-19 – WACO: Heart of Texas Airshow from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the TSTC Campus Airport located at 3801 Campus Dr.  The event promises to thrill spectators as jets, warbirds and helicopters whirl through the air. 4 – BRENHAM: Texas Independence Day Celebration from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 23400 Park Road 12, celebrates the 181st Anniversary of Texas Independence.
