Potential Flood Gate Releases Below Possum Kingdom Lake

Those planning to canoe or tube the Brazos River below Possum Kingdom Lake must be aware that with current weather conditions, there is the possibility that flood gate releases of water into the Brazos River may become necessary. Should a release take place, water levels in the river will rise quickly, providing a potentially dangerous and life-threatening situation. Before putting into the river in a canoe, kayak or tube, please plan to take all precautions necessary to insure your safety with proper equipment and through access to information on changing river conditions.
