The Brazos River Authority’s (BRA) mission to develop, manage and protect the water resources
of the Brazos River basin is as important now as it was when we were formed by the Texas
Legislature in 1929. As the population of Texas and the demand for water increases, so does
the need for dedicated people who are willing to work hard to provide this precious resource
to the Brazos River basin. The BRA is proud to employ a highly-qualified staff that takes
pride in working for a leader in water supply and treatment.
The BRA is searching for individuals who are hardworking, self-motivated, safety conscious,
and success-oriented. We look for employees who have initiative, creativity, a can- (and will-) do attitude and a
positive demeanor; who are honest, ethical, and adaptable; and who have the desire to grow with
a great organization and strive to make it even better. The BRA is an equal opportunity employer
and actively promotes a healthy, drug-free work environment.
The BRA provides a substantial benefit package and competitive pay for positions throughout the
Brazos River basin. We make every effort to grow our employees and promote from within the
organization whenever possible. Beyond the monetary compensation and benefits, the BRA offers
a great work environment. Our team members have been employed for
an average of ten years.
The BRA encourages a positive and productive workplace by providing various team building and
community outreach activities throughout the year. Some of the events include: Departmental
off-site team building, annual United Way fundraisers, blood drives, participation in the
YES Expo and veteran job fairs, Food for Families departmental competitions, Angel Tree gift
drives, partnering with Chambers of Commerce on various community activities, local high school
student job shadowing and career day events, assisting with community children’s fishing
programs, participating in and/or hosting boating and water safety classes and environmental
awareness programs, and involvement in various other community educational and
recreational events.
For those looking to advance or begin a career in water and wastewater treatment, the
BRA provides proactive training and additional compensation for testing and license
upgrades. We know that licensed water and wastewater workers have the advantage of
choosing from offers throughout the country. We encourage you to review the competitive
salaries, benefit packages and training for licensure offered by the BRA.
If you are interested in making a difference in your community and across the State of
Texas, we encourage you to consider becoming a part of the Brazos River Authority team!
