The Brazos River Authority will hold its annual waterfowl hunting site drawings in late August at its three BRA reservoirs, giving hunters an opportunity to secure their spot on either Possum Kingdom Lake, Lake Granbury or Lake Limestone in advance of the upcoming hunting season.
Drawing times and dates are:
- Possum Kingdom Lake, Saturday, Aug. 20, 8:30 a.m., 301 Observation Point Road in Graford.
- Lake Granbury, Friday, Friday, Aug. 26, 8:30 a.m., 4552 Mambrino Highway, Granbury.
- Lake Limestone, Friday, Aug. 26, 8:30 a.m., 20226 Sterling Robertson Dam Road in Thornton.
To be eligible for the drawing, each person must be at least 18 and have a Texas hunting license for the 2016-17 season. The license must have a Texas Duck Stamp Endorsement as well as a current federal Waterfowl Stamp attached to the back.
Those participating must be present during the time of the drawings. Only one entry is allowed per person and one site per entry. A $200 permit fee is required at the time of the drawing from those selected for a site. Only check or money orders will be accepted. During the drawing, the first chosen will have first pick of sites followed by the others, drawn in order.
While the BRA provides the hunting sites, hunters must provide their own blinds. Hunting will only be allowed at specified locations. Hunters must stay within 20 feet of the marked area. Up to four people may share a blind.
