17– ABILENE: Trout Derby from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nelson Park located at 1000 Zoo Lane. All are welcome to participate in this event featuring over 500 trout that will be stocked in the pond. The City of Abilene Parks and Recreation along with Texas Parks and Wildlife sponsor this event free of charge. 3 – SALADO: Every Saturday Events at the Strawberry Patch from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Strawberry Patch of Salado located at 171 South Main. This family-friendly event includes live music, free samples of gourmet food, coffee tasting and more for the public to enjoy. 14 – WACO: Make and Take: Valentines Crafts from 4-5:30 p.m. at the South Waco Library located at 2737 S 18th St. This is a free event that allows you to make a heart butterfly and much more. Lower Basin

13 – BRENHAM: Play in the Clay will be held at Bluebonnet Pottery located at 12341 LBJ Dr. from 7- 9 p.m. and will focus on making your own unique pieces of art. 17 – LAKE JACKSON: Bird Banding begins at 8 a.m. at the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory located at 299 W. Hwy 332. This free event allows volunteers to collect baseline data on bird populations at the sanctuary and provides an opportunity to see birds up close and to learn all the birds of our community.
