The potential for opening a 3rd gate at Possum Kingdom Lake has been eliminated. With the end of the current rain event, inflows into Possum Kingdom Lake have dropped to the point where a two-gate release will be adequate to pass inflows; however, both gates will be required for the next few days.
Heavy rain below Possum Kingdom Lake caused a rise in the Brazos River overnight that is expected to pass without minor flooding. Please watch this page for additional information on closing of floodgates in the next several days. Both Possum Kingdom Lake and Lake Granbury will be at full capacity when the event is complete.
